On Friday, Limelight Marketing’s Blair Stonehouse and two contractors were testing the signal of a commercial grade router in the back of a van around Echuca. The testing is part of a plan to potentially install free wifi around parts of Echuca to benefit tourism. Mr Stonehouse, who is spearheading the project, wants to set up the service in the Port of Echuca and immediate surrounds, so tourists can access information about the town’s restaurants, attractions and services.

He said when the wifi notification was sent to a person’s mobile or computer, the person would simply accept the wifi and then be sent to a landing page, in the form of a directory of local businesses. Then tourists could browse the directory and could search further if necessary. ‘‘If you don’t find what you want..you’re free to surf the web,’’ Mr Stonehouse said. He is in talks with Echuca-Moama Tourism and wants any potential sponsors of the project to contact him.

The project would involve roll-out costs and ongoing maintenance and data costs. Mr Stonehouse said the main benefit would be to tourism in the town, once the infrastructure was in place, closed circuit TV could be installed for little cost. He said a local directory app designed to direct traffic to local businesses was also in the process of being built.

Kagome Australia
We have installed a time lapse camera on to observe and record the grow cycle of a Kagome tomato field 10 out of Echuca. The purpose of the camera is to create a video to use in promotional material as well as document the plants as they grown and how they respond to different water cycles and temperatures. The video will be available to watch in early 2013.

A second Time lapse camera was installed in Richmond with the assistance of Cloud9. This camera is there to document the speed that a UB (Unitised Building) system. This revolutionary way of building commercial contractions is set to revolutionise High Rise construction. Stay tuned to see how fast Adam Wood Group can erect one of these structures

Limelight welcome the addition of junior account executive James Carr. James is a student at Moama Anglican Grammar School, he has joined Limelight on a part time basis to assist in managing the online presence (website and social media) of some of Limelight's larger clients such as Kagome and Rich River Golf Club Resort as well as other clients in the Echuca/Moama region and the Limelight website.

Livewires recently attended the e 2012 Alpine Electronics Australia Five Stripes Awards. They were the winner in the category of 'Marketing Excellence, Best Dealer Website' for there website www.livewires.com.au built and designed by Limelight. We are very proud to share in this achievement with Livewires and we look forward to seeing the trophy…even if it is on their shelf instead of ours ;)

Limelight and Smartmove Computing sponsored the Vintage Photobooth at the Echuca Specialist School: Little Black Dress Ball. The event was held on the 7th of September at Radcliffes Restaurant in the Port of Echuca. It was a fantastic night that was enjoyed by all.

8 years ago today I decided to open Limelight Marketing, many things have changed since then. Services have shifted from event/music management, promotions & marketing to website, web design, social media and eMarketing. There have been also many changes for me personally, including a 4 year hiatus; 2 years traveling over seas and the 2 years when I was Business Development Manager at Design Experts. Purchasing a home in Moama and the subsequent move to and then from Echuca/Moama.
